The School was founded by Late Sir Fazle Hasan Abed in 2004 in Dhaka, Bangladesh to address the unmet public health challenges particular to Asia, Africa and South America. The School is dedicated to contributing to public health by creating public health leaders and innovative solutions through cutting-edge and experiential Education, Training, and Research to inform policies and programmes.

GRADUATES
Our MPH programme attracts a student body of health and development professionals from around the world. 690 students with diverse academic backgrounds in the social sciences and medicine across 35 countries have graduated with an MPH degree from BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health, BRAC University.

Multi-disciplinary teams at the School engage in research on a range of topics, including, but not limited to, urban and rural health, socioeconomic development, poverty, infectious and non-communicable diseases, nutrition, gender equity and rights, sexual and reproductive health and rights, digital health, human rights, health systems and workforce, health equity, and healthcare financing.

Our research is supported by over 150 global funders and 200 national and international partners spanning 6 continents. We work closely with Government, BRAC, other service delivery organisations, key stakeholders, and civil society.
Through its 5 Centres of Excellence and 3 Research and Policy Hubs, the School fosters collaborative research that addresses the country’s most pressing public health challenges. Researchers and development professionals engage in dynamic, evidence-based investigations that inform policy, shape programmes, and drive meaningful change in practice.
